Connor's love-'em-and-leave-'em reputation is hospital legend, so Kate's steering well clear. Although, Connor's sinful sexiness is coming critically close to cracking the shield around Kate's fragile heart….
Heartbreakers of St. Patrick's Hospital
The delicious doctors you know you shouldn't fall for

My Review:
I love how this story unfolds; it is light and flirty at times and deeply emotional and moving at others with a bit of adrenalin packing action thrown in at the end.

Conner Mathew’s is a sexy motorbike riding surgeon who delights in breaking the rules, a playboy rebel with a cause. Kate is his total opposite studious, serious a bit of a workaholic. As the story moves along we learn that both Conner and Kate have had rough childhoods and their past has shaped them into the people they are today. What starts out as a battle between to adversaries turn into friendship and develops into a beautiful romance.

I love Alison’s book, the writing is crisp and characters delightful. Kate’s niece Bella adds a nice touch to this story. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read Bella’s story next (Heartbreakers of St. Patrick's Hospital Series). I would definitely recommend this book.

The Other Soldier by Kathy Altman

The Other SoldierThe Other Soldier by Kathy Altman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Back Cover:
Corporal Reid Macfarland has one mission: to make amends for the mistake he lives with every day. That friendly-fire incident in Afghanistan that killed a fellow soldier haunts him. Maybe if he can help the widow, he'll find some peace.

But amends are easier said than done. Just one meeting with the independent and engaging Parker Dean makes it clear that forgiveness is a little more complicated than offering money or an apology. If he really wants to help, Reid has to stick around for a while. The more their daily lives intertwine, the more he realizes her forgiveness isn't the only thing he needs--he needs her.

My Review:
The Other Soldier is a poignant and enduring romance about love and forgiveness.

Corporal Reid MacFarland was responsible for the friendly fire incident that killed Parken Dean’s husband leaving her a Widow. When Reid visits Parker looking for absolution for his sins she makes it clear that money won’t buy him forgiveness or bring back her dead husband. Reid decides to stick around and help this fiercely independent single mother run her farm.

Parker and Reid’s romance is slow to develop; even though they are attracted to each other they both need to come to terms with their loss and learn to forgive before they can open themselves up to a new relationship.

Reid’s relationship with Nat Parker’s daughter is enduring to read; there is also a secondary romance between Harris Briggs and Eugenia an older couple which adds another dimension to this story.

‘The other Soldier’ is beautifully written with great characters; given the premise of this story I think Kathy did a remarkable job in keeping the tone fun and light. If you like military romances I would definitely recommend this book.

My Review:
Lucky in Love is a heartwarmingly sexy romance between the town’s ‘Mysterious Cute Guy’ Ty Garrison and Town’s good girl and ER nurse Mallory Quinn; Get ready to laugh your heart out.

Ty is a former Navy seal suffering from PTSD, I really like how Jill addressed Ty’s issues without it taking center stage in the story; Ty and Mallory’s relationship is fraught with obstacles yet their romance is truly heartfelt, tender and sexy.

Lucky in Love is part 1 of a sub series within the Lucky Harbor series of three ‘Chocoholics’ Amy, Mallory and Grace who take refuge together during a storm and bond together over a chocolate cake to form a friendship; You will fall in love with all the crazy and eccentric residents of Lucky Harbor and all their crazy antics.

Jill Shalvis is a master crafter of romances with tons of heart, humor and passion, Lucky in Love delivers on all counts; an absolutely delightful read with tons of laugh out moments.

Lucky in Love is a HarlequinJunkie Top Pick and Highly recommended read!

Fortune's Perfect Match by Allison Leigh

Fortune's Perfect MatchFortune's Perfect Match by Allison Leigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Back Cover:
It seemed as if all the Fortunes were finding love-all of them except Emily. Pretty, poised and smart, the oldest Fortune daughter had given up on Mr. Right and was now looking for Baby Right.

And then she met a man. No one would ever picture rough-around-the-edges Max Allen with a pampered princess like Emily.

The tall, shaggy-haired airport manager had never caught a break in his life. After he'd lost baby Anthony, he vowed never to love another child. And now he'd fallen hard for a polished, sophisticated woman intent on having a baby. Was Max headed for another heartbreak? Or could the well-heeled Ms. Fortune be the one who finally made him whole?

My Reviews:
Emily Fortune comes from an affluent family; she is the VP of advertising for the family run telecomm company while Max Allen is a small town guy who now works as a manager for Emily’s brother-in-law Tanner.

There is instant attraction between Max and Emily when they meet but Max is hesitant as he doesn’t consider himself worthy of Emily. Emily is at a point in her life where she is ready to have kids; the real conflict here is that having gone through the heartache of losing a child, Max has no intentions being a dad again.
I really liked Emily and Max, they are far from perfect individuals full of insecurities but absolutely perfect for each other.

Fortune’s Perfect Match is a well written addition to the series; a sweet and sexy romance.

Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox

Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Back Cover:
When Lexie Marshall places an ad for a cycling companion, she hopes to find someone friendly and fun to cross the TransAmerica Trail with. Instead, she gets Tom Geiger—a lean, sexy loner whose bad attitude threatens to spoil the adventure she’s spent years planning.

Roped into the cycling equivalent of a blind date by his sister, Tom doesn’t want to ride with a chatty, go-by-the-map kind of woman, and he certainly doesn’t want to want her. Too bad the sight of Lexie with a bike between her thighs really turns his crank.

Even Tom’s stubborn determination to keep Lexie at a distance can’t stop a kiss from leading to endless nights of hotter-than-hot sex. But when the wild ride ends, where will they go next?

My Review:
An absolute delight! Ride With Me is a truly refreshing read ….A story about two people who meet to partner up and ride their bikes coast to coast along the TransAmerica bikeTrail.

Tom is a surly laid-back loner, a total recluse in contrast Alex is a control freak who loves to talk…. you can tell this trip is going to be such fun!

So what did I like about “Ride With Me”? Well EVERYTHING! The writing is sharp, funny and witty; the sex is hotter than hot and the story is reel me in engaging.

My one gripe is that the ending felt a little rushed, or maybe it is a case of me loving the book so much that I couldn’t get enough of Tom and Alex and wanted more…
Maybe Ruthie has plans to write part 2 of this trip..... One can hope!

Ruthie Knox is now a new addition to my list of must read authors; I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Savas's Wildcat by Anne McAllister

Savas's WildcatSavas's Wildcat by Anne McAllister
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Back Cover:
Yiannis Savas, the irresistible playboy of the Savas dynasty, was every girl's dream. But he quickly turned into Cat's nightmare when his promises led no further than a fiery affair.

Now Cat MacLean has grown up and out of her girlish fantasies. Determined not to fall prey to smooth talk and fast charm again, she's engaged to someone sensible.

Then she's forced to spend a week with the one man she's never forgotten. Yiannis's heated gaze pierces her defences, and suddenly sensible doesn't seem quite so good….

My Review:
Savas’s Wildcat is a delightful read set in southern California

Yiannis Savas gets roped into caring for baby Harry when his 85 yr. old tenant Maggy falls and breaks her hip; Cat MacLean Yiannis ex-flame and Maggy’s granddaughter rushes back to into town to aid and care for her injured grandmother.

Cat lives in San Francisco and is engaged to a dependable guy who wants the same things in life she does. When Cat learns she has to share care of her nephew with Yiannis she is not happy, Yiannis broke her heart a couple of years ago when he was not ready to commit to a relationship. It is fun to see Yiannis and Cat butt heads as they fight their attraction and feelings for each other and baby Harry is just adorable.

This book has a strong sense of family and connection, the characters are down to earth and the writing is full of humor, wit and sexual tension.

If you are familiar with Anne McAllister’s books by now you are pretty familiar with the Savas family, the extended family is quite large and I have honestly lost count on who is whose cousin, sister or brother but suffice to say if you haven’t read any of Anne’s books you are sure missing out on a good thing.
